Camper Update: Building a bed + folding table – Part 3

Published On May 17, 2016 | By Maria Fredgaard | Campers

Note: This is part 3 of the camper series, You might want to check out part 1 of this series of post.

Our camper is beginning to look like a tiny home!

We have installed the bed. It’s not a kingsize bed, but it’s big enough for the two of us.

The backrest can fold up and down, in order to hide the duvet and pillows during the daytime, and the solid back also makes the bed double function as a sofa.

See the video here:

Note: This video was filmed last summer

The bed is made from scratch and 100% custom made to fit the dimensions of the camper.

I bought a mattress at Ikea, and upholstered it to the bed frame.

Installing the folding table

The table is the original table from the 70s!

I started by spray painting the borders and leg of the table, and then I put wallpaper on the back, to make it blend in with the wallpaper when it’s folded up against the wall.

I am really satisfied with the result.

The baby blue color goes well with the white interior, and the kitchen we will have in the front of the camper.

We have made a playlist of all the camper remodelling videos (watch below), and you can also find it on our Youtube channel of course.

I want weekly inspiration:

Maria, why not to use the old (smaller) camper as an office? or for extra space?
or even to let it out to young people on a night basis?
I think you should be happy for the old camper, despite the hard work, because you have learnt a lot from this experience on the route to becoming an expert on designing small spaces.
    With warm regards
