CrossRoads RVs: 8 Facts Owners & Buyers Should Know

Now owned by Thor Industries, CrossRoads RV has been in business since the mid-90s and has worked hard to become a household name in the United States.

This RV company has modern, luxurious RVs with over a dozen floorplan options to choose from!

You can really make it your own in the CrossRoads RV lineup!

Furthermore, CrossRoads RVs manufactures travel trailers, fifth wheels, and destination trailers on their site.

Let’s look at a few facts about CrossRoads RVs!

1. Where Are CrossRoads RVs Made?

The manufacturing facilities of CrossRoads RVs are located in Topeka, Indiana.

According to their site, they employ over 600 people at their manufacturing sites.

Like most RV companies, they do offer factory tours where you can fill out a form and set an appointment to see just how their RVs are made!

If you are interested, you can go to their website and look into setting up your tour today!

Just make sure to follow all protocols, and usually, minors or those under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

2. Who Owns the CrossRoads Company?

CrossRoads RVs was founded in 1996 and has worked hard to establish its own traditions and high-quality branding.

However, the company has since been acquired by Thor Industries.

Thor Industries is known for owning a majority of the RV brands in the industry, such as:

  • Dutchmen
  • Jayco
  • Thor Motor Coach
  • Keystone RV
  • CrossRoads
  • Airstream
  • Cruiser RV
  • Starcraft RVs

Because of this, you can find CrossRoads RVs on their site and on Thor’s site.

Thor’s site currently does not host the same accurate information that CrossRoads RV’s site does (as it shows RVs that are no longer in production or inaccurate floorplans), but you can still get an idea of a few of their models through Thor’s site.

3. What Types and Sizes of RVs Do CrossRoads Produce?

CrossRoads RVs offer a few types of RVs in their lineup:

Travel Trailers:

There are four travel trailers to choose from:

  • Cruiser Aire
  • Sunset Trail
  • Volante
  • Zinger

They feature large beds, high ceilings, glass top range covers, and solid surface countertops.

CrossRoads RVs come with one to two bathrooms depending on your floorplan and plenty of sleeping and lounging space.

The Volante trailer, in particular, comes in both travel trailers and fifth-wheel floorplans. Their travel trailer options are very versatile and come in over a dozen different floorplans and styles.

Not only do their interiors include everything you might need, but their varying sizes and weights also make it easy to find something that fits your specific needs!

Fifth Wheels:

Along with Volante, there are four total fifth wheel models to choose from:

  • Cameo
  • Cruiser
  • Cruiser Aire
  • Volante

Modern lighting, wood panel flooring, custom cabinetry, and indoor fireplaces are only the beginning of what these amazing fifth wheels have to offer.

The Cruiser model is a great option for those looking to camp in style.

With plenty of space for both lounging, living, and sleeping, these fifth wheels can sleep four at a minimum. They come with theater seating and LED lighting, as well as a 50″ TV.

Destination Trailer:

Their Hampton model is considered a “Destination Trailer,” which is a much larger and more luxurious model option.

It includes queen and king bed options, and incredible interior, and everything you could want for a home on wheels.

Their heaviest floorplan for the Hampton is roughly 12,000 lbs and would therefore be quite the behemoth to haul around with you, but for someone who is only looking to live on the road or in their RV full time, this is probably the one for you.

Never would you need anything else again!

Redwood RV:

Their final model is simply titled the “Redwood RV.”

According to the Crossroads RV site, it seems that Redwood is another brand within CrossRoads that offers an RV model option.

They claim that their “interior fabrics, custom cabinetry and cutting edge technology, makes for an incomparably finished luxury fifth-wheel unrivaled in the industry.”

The interior, like the Hampton, is extensive and luxurious, with tons of space to live and sleep in.

It comes with a full kitchen and lavatories with plenty of extra wardrobe space to really make it a home-away-from-home.

4. Does CrossRoads Make a Toy Hauler?

According to Thor’s site, both the Volante and Zinger models are considered to have Toy Hauler floorplan options. However, there is not official Toy Hauler size listed on CrossRoads RV’s website.

According to the many different floorplans in both the Volante and Zinger models, there doesn’t seem to be a garage option.

There is plenty of space, bunks, couches, and even a second bedroom in the back of a few models, but no designated toy hauler option.

Because we couldn’t find a garage floorplan, we must conclude that at this time, CrossRoads RVs does not offer one.

5. What Are the Smallest RVs from CrossRoads?

The smallest RV from CrossRoads is the Zinger Lite ZR18RB floorplan.

It has everything you need but is lightweight enough to haul around with you!

This travel trailer is 21 feet long in exterior length and comes with a queen bed.

The Zinger Lite does include a lavatory, plenty of storage space, and a dinette. The kitchenette comes with the necessary amenities, and it only weighs roughly 3,400 lbs.

While it may be small, it has a lot of comforts and necessities checked off the list that makes it a great option for someone either on a budget or who prefers to haul a lighter load.

6. What Are the Biggest RVs from CrossRoads?

The largest RV from CrossRoads Cruiser CR3851BL floorplan.

While the Cruiser model has a lot of different floorplans and features, the CR3851BL floorplan is definitely the largest.

Not only is this RV 25 feet and 5 inches, it includes theater seating, a king bed, and loft, as well as a full kitchen and large lavatory.

The dresser and closet space on this RV is incredible and often will allow for up to 6 guests to sleep comfortably within!

Being the largest, it is also incredibly heavy and weighs about 12,500 lbs!

Make sure you can haul this one. Otherwise, you might end up spending more in gas than you did on the RV itself.

7. What Are The Most Popular RVs by CrossRoads?

The most popular models by CrossRoads are within the Cruiser lineup.

As we mentioned in the section above about the largest RV, the Cruiser has many different options to choose from and plenty of modern and fancy features for any RV beginner or veteran.

It comes with eight different floorplans and ranges from 35 to 42 feet in length.

Each floorplan includes a lavatory, kitchen, dinette, and king or queen-sized bed options. This makes it not only the most popular but one of the more versatile models in the lineup!

Furthermore, the Cruiser has a 12 cubic foot gas or electric refrigerator, solar panels, tables and chairs for the dinette, and theater seating.

Finally, the Cruiser has the ability to hook up a washing machine and dryer, and they have TVs and tinted safety glass windows.

The Cruiser by CrossRoads RVs truly has it all!

8. Are CrossRoads RVs For All Four Seasons?

CrossRoads RVs all come with modern heating and cooling systems.

Some will come with an interior electric fireplace heater as well for those colder days or to just keep it cozy.

Most are equipped to act like homes on wheels, and therefore should be able to be used in most weather conditions.

However, driving in the snow or on ice with any model of RV is a little dangerous. Camping in incredibly hot conditions, as well, might be too much for the AC system to handle.

Therefore, while it could be said that these models can be used in all four seasons, using them at your discretion and making sure to stay safe is a must.
