Fleetwood RVs have been manufactured in several different places throughout the United States.

Beginning in Compton in southern California in the 1950s, then moving to Paramount, then Anaheim, and finally to Riverside, California.

Fleetwood has a long and complicated history spanning several cities and a few owners.

Currently, Fleetwood RV is part of the REV Group, Inc. after filing for bankruptcy in 2009 and changing hands a few times.

This means that they are part of the same company umbrella as Holiday Rambler, Monaco Coach, American Coach, Renegade RV, Midwest Automotive Designs, and Lance.

3. What Types and Sizes of RVs Do Fleetwood Produce?

Fleetwood manufactures both Class A and Class B motorhomes as of 2020.

These styles include the Irok Campervan and many of their luxury Class A motorhomes, like the Discovery LXE.

Both gas and diesel motorhome models are available as well.

Class B IROK by Fleetwood RV:

The IROK is a luxury camper manufactured by Fleetwood RV and comes with several great features!

This camper includes a 28-gallon freshwater tank, a generator, rooftop solar panels, and an equipped kitchen with a fridge and cooktop.

Perhaps it is the smallest, but that doesn’t make it small!

6. What Are the Biggest RVs from Fleetwood?

The Discovery LXE model that we mentioned above has a 44-foot length exterior model and floorplan and 36-foot and 40-foot floor plans.

This makes it the largest in the fleet.

The Fleetwood Discovery “holds the ranking as one of the best-selling RVs ever made,” according to Fleetwood’s site.

Not only does the Discovery have everything that you would expect from an RV, but its luxurious design, signature construction, and brand name prowess give it a pretty prestigious reputation.

9. Has Fleetwood had Any Recalls Over the Years?

The Fleetwood RV company has been around for a long time.

That means it has had its share of run-ins with recalls.

According to the arfc.org website, there have been many Fleetwood recalls over the past several years due to problems ranging from exterior lighting issues to fuel systems to the RV structure.

In 2018, several recalls of the Fleetwood Storm model were now not listed on their website for all of those listed problems and more.

The Fleetwood Discovery model, one of their oldest and top-selling, has had a few recalls over the years dating back to 1996.

However, it should be noted that the frequency of these recalls is most likely due to the length of time that the Discovery model has been on the market.

10. Are Fleetwood RVs For All Four Seasons?

According to the Fleetwood RV blog, the Fleetwood chassis are designed to take on all kinds of weather conditions when driving.

Furthermore, they state that their RVs are built tough enough to handle cold conditions.

However, they do not specify which models are built for, or approved for, four-season travel.

These RVs do come with air conditioning units and heated cabins, and slideouts.

They do recommend that you cover up windows and self-insulate for the colder months, however, as well as to add pink RV antifreeze to your black and grey water tanks.

Furthermore, they suggest purchasing RV vent cushions to keep warm air from escaping and to test furnaces before going out on a cold trip.

So, while Fleetwood states that their RVs are capable of handling cold weather conditions, their suggestions that you take multiple steps to prepare for the cold in their RVs could mean that they aren’t necessarily “four-season RVs.”
