We work on the road for a couple of months every year, and we know many of you do too.

We have made this map to make it easy to check how the Internet connection in all countries:

The darker the color of the country, the faster the Internet speed is.

Cheap countries with fine Internet speed

Most countries have acceptable Internet speed today.

Even countries like Kenya and Nigeria we’ve found to have fiber network connection, but there are still countries you should avoid, if you need a good connection to work.

Last year we spend a couple of months in Thailand, and we were a bit surprised by the fast Internet we found in cities like Phuket and Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai is a very famous place to go for people who work online. Good place to network, and lots of cool co-working spaces with free broadband wifi.

We met a lot of interesting people from all over the world. Lots of travel bloggers and Youtube Vloggers.

Working on the road..

One of the main reasons for us to start downsizing, was to get debt free.

We wanted to speed up the process, and letting go of stuff and avoiding to spend money on clothes etc. enabled us to do so.

We also wanted to be able to live on the money we could make online, because it has been a long time dream for us to be able to travel whenever we want to.

Today we can work from anywhere, and because we’re in the cold north (Denmark), we often migrate to warmer countries in the wintertime.

Europe has the best internet speeds

You find the fastest internet connections in the world in Northern Europe. Especially Denmark, The Netherlands and Sweden, but also Norway as fast Internet – even though they are a HUGE country with lots of mountains.

If you travel through you can always find a cheap plan for mobile broadband – Check this site e.g. for mobile broadband in Norway.
