If, so there are a few important rules you need to know. If you fail to note and follow these rules, you could encounter trouble with the park supervisor.

In New Mexico, State and National Parks are governed by the New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources department.

This department makes the camping and RV rules that apply to the various parks in the state:

• Pets have to be kept on leashes that are no longer than 10 feet.
• The campsite check-out time at most New Mexico State and National Parks is strictly at 02:00 pm.
• The quiet hours for parks are between 10:00 pm and 07:00 am.
• Campers are not allowed to reserve or save a campsite on behalf of someone else.
• During a 20 day period, campers are only allowed to stay at New Mexico State and National Parks for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.
• A campsite is not allowed to be left unattended for longer than 24 hours.
• Guests are only allowed to reserve campsites up to six months in advance.
