Whether you dream of a Scandinavian, Bohemian or industrial styled living room, you have plenty of opportunities to create smart and beautiful spaces, with lots of hidden storage.

Creative book shelves

If you prefer not to go completely digital with books etc. we have found a couple of cool storage solutions for you, in order to keep your books and magazines.

Design your own bookshelf, to optimize the corners of the room.

Corners areas are often overlooked. A corner next to a door is a good place to put book shelves.

These tiny shelves are from our own living room:

It can be a good idea to extend the shelving area all the way from the floor to the ceiling. It rarely looks cluttered, and it gives you that extra space.

Your can also go for a cheaper solutions by setting up shelves

There are many great interior design ideas when it comes to corner shelves:

In small living rooms with lots of corners you can work creatively with the corner areas, by using shelving systems specifically designed for corners.

We really love these beautiful shelves from Expand Furniture:

They are actually quite affordable – starting at $69.

Sofa tables with storage

Most sofa tables don’t do much in terms of space saving and storage options.

These sofa tables will help you keep it all organized.

The tables below can fold up to give you a better positions for working. If you work from home like us, you know how important it is to design for good comfort and good ergonomic support.

You can find these kind of tables over at Expand Furniture.

These tables also offer lots of storage space for work related stuff, books etc.

When they are folded down, they look like ordinary sofa tables.

Sofas with double function for storage

If you need extra storage space in your living room, you will love these storage sofas.

The space below the sofa is often left unused.

It’s really one of the best places to store stuff. As mentioned earlier it can be hard to find a good spot for books in a tiny space, and why not store them inside the sitting module, where you will use them anyway?

This is also a good place to store your art and craft stuff.

If your sofa is low and doesn’t contain storage space, you can choose to put another piece of furniture (preferably on wheels) besides the sofa.

The ottoman is also a good place for storage.

You can buy these kind of ottoman build for it, or you can make your own.

This is our own (cheap) version of the Ottoman, where we store DVDs.

Its the perfect spot for blankets and books as well.

These ones are from the Wayfair store.
