Traditional bed frames are easy to find. They can be purchased locally, online, and in every major big box store in the country.
Buying a Murphy bed isn’t quite as easy. These beds are still a niche item that you can’t just pick up anywhere.
Where can you buy Murphy Beds?
The three best places to buy murphy beds right now are Wayfair, Lori Wall Beds, and Expand Furniture. These stores are all online, and they have a great selection of high-quality murphy beds for you to choose from that can be delivered straight to you.
Let’s take a look at these three stores and the murphy beds that they have to offer in more detail:

Wayfair has been online for almost two decades now.
Many consider them to be the largest e-commerce website for home furnishings.
This means that they have a lot of options to choose from.
Here are 3 Murphy Beds you might want to consider buying from Wayfair:
1. The Apeksha Murphy Bed
The Apeksha Murphy Bed is a side-mounted murphy bed that can be anchored into wood studs, metal studs, concrete walls, and even brick walls.
It’s one of the easiest murphy beds to assemble and can easily be opened and closed.
It has a simple design that will blend in well inside any home.
The Apeksha Murphy bed is also great for people with low ceilings as you won’t need more than five feet of height to mount it. This bed is also a reasonable price that doesn’t cost much more than $1,000.00.
Unfortunately, this bed can only be purchased in twin size and full size, so if you’re looking for a king or queen, you’ll have to go with a different model.
2. The Colquitt Storage Murphy Bed Platform
The Colquitt Storage Murphy Bed Platform is a murphy bed and closet all-in-one.
This bed is a vertically mounted bed that comes in multiple sizes.
When closed, the bed has a depth of 20 inches, and it is a closet that consists of two areas.
The upper area features an exposed rod for hanging garments like shirts and pants. It also features a narrow shelf for folded clothing like tee shirts and folded pants.
Beneath the exposed area is a closet with a door. This door conceals three separate areas.
The upper area has a clothing rod; the center area has a shelf that is large enough to hold small bins, and the lower area has a shelf just tall enough to contain a few layers of folded clothing.
This bed is a little more expensive than the previous model we mentioned, but you can still get it for less than $1,500.00 at Wayfair.
3. The Berner Murphy Bed
Are you looking to turn your guest room into an office?
The Berner Murphy Bed combines a bed with a desk!
Amazingly enough, you don’t even have to clear off the desk when turning down the murphy bed. This makes it much easier to make the transition from the office to a guest room.
The Berner is crafted in the United States using premium furniture grade plywood as well as solid hardwoods.
This gives the office furniture a decidedly luxurious look and also makes for a sturdy and durable bed that could easily become a generational piece of furniture.
This bed is perfect for a guest room as it comes in full size. It’s just large enough to be comfortable for a short stay for two people, but not so big that your guests won’t leave.
Of course, once they’re gone, all you have to do is fold it back up to reveal your office once more.
Expect to pay a premium price for this bed.
Currently, you’ll need to make an investment of over $3,000.00 to obtain one.

Lori Wall Beds:
Lori Wall Beds offer an economical way for people to assemble their own murphy beds.
You can buy them in twin size, queen size, and full size, so you have a lot of options to choose from with a Lori bed.
These beds are 100% American made, and only real wood is used in their construction.
However, this isn’t what separates the Lori Wall Bed from other murphy beds. What does separate it is the lifting mechanism that is used in the Lori Wall Bed.
Essentially, it does not use a lifting mechanism.
Instead, Lori makes use of a hinge that allows you to lift and lower your wall bed manually. This does make the bed harder to lift, but it also makes it less complicated and less expensive.
The wall bed has a set of shelves included that also act as the bed’s frame when it is down. However, this does mean that you’ll have to empty the shelves before you can bring the bed down into position.
This one is great for a guest room that won’t be used often, but I’m not sure I’d want to use it on a daily basis.
However, at less than a thousand dollars, this bed could be just what you need to test out a murphy bed in your house.

Expand Furniture Beds:
Expand Furniture makes a wide range of murphy beds that live inside of other pieces of furniture.
For instance, you can get a wall bed that combines with a sofa, and you can get wall beds that combine with desks and tables.
Here are three examples of murphy beds you can buy from Expand:
1. The MurphySofa Minima Queen in Eco Leather
This murphy bed combines a sofa with a queen-sized bed. The mattress inside can be up to 10 inches thick, and the sofa is made from leather.
The case for the bed is white, and the sofa can be purchased in a dark gray or taupe color. This is a vertically mounted murphy bed, so you’ll need about 92 inches of vertical space.
The sofa measures about 82 inches in width, and it has a depth of about 34 inches. Add in another 16 inches of depth for the bed, and you’ll need about 50 inches of depth for this bed and sofa.
When the bed is fully extended, it measures out to about 85 inches and has a width of about 82 inches.
One of the nice aspects of this murphy bed is that you don’t have to leave any clear space for it. The bed folds right over the couch, and you would probably already have space in front of the couch anyway, so no space is wasted with this type of murphy bed.
In total, you’ll pay about $5,000.00 for this murphy bed, but you are getting a sofa as well, so that is something you should keep in mind when you look at the price.
2. The Compatto Wall Bed Revolving Bookcase with Table
The Compatto is a murphy bed, a bookcase, and a table all combined into one neat package.
This bed manages to rotate before it’s lowered.
The rotation means that the bookshelves do not need to be emptied out when the bed is in use.
This design feature makes this wall bed a practical bed for people who want to use it on a nightly basis without sacrificing their bookshelf.
On top of this, a table folds out of the bookshelf. This table can then be folded back up and rotated in so that the bed can be used.
When you buy this bed, you have a multitude of color options to choose from, but only one size.
The shelves are 9 inches deep, the table is 65 inches long by 28 inches wide, and the wall bed’s height is about 87 inches tall.
Expect to pay over $7,000.00 for this bed.
3. The Dormire Bunk Bed Couch Transformer
This bed is a couch that transforms into a set of bunk beds.
You can buy it in light gray, blue, and brown.
The bed is about 89 inches wide and 65 inches tall in sofa form.
When it is raised into a set of bunks, it still only reaches 65 inches in height, so it would be possible to use it even in a basement of moderate height.
I like that the sofa even has a ladder built into it so that guests can climb into the bunk.
What I don’t like is the fact that the beds end up being more narrow than a twin size bed.
I think that this sofa bed would be best for people who want to have a spare bed for kids and young adults who wouldn’t mind sleeping on a smaller bed for the weekend.
Expect to pay around $3,000.00 for this bed.
