------- NEW PODCAST -------
Maria started a new podcast about simple living, faith, decluttering, etc.
Using color is probably the most cost-effective way of styling your tiny house. Colorful walls, furnishings and decor can lift the mood and help create your desired ambiance.
Come along with me as we look at 44 amazing colorful tiny houses.
Floral Wallpaper, Green Sofa and Orange Rug
INSTAGRAM @livingbiginatinyhouse
Starting us off is this simple yet eclectic tiny home. It’s long and narrow with bold black and white floral wallpaper in the small livingroom. In front of this is an apple green sofa, plush orange rug, and gray armchair with ottoman.
This design cleverly makes use of the high ceilings with a narrow loft storage space on one end and stairs leading to a bedroom loft on the other.
I love how the green tones are subtly mirrored throughout this home; the sofa, the sliding door frame and the indoor plants.
Mosaic-Inspired Feature Wall

Now here is a bold way to bring in vibrant color!
Along with these bright burnt orange cushions on the benches is a mosaic-inspired feature wall.
It is a really smart design choice to carry this pattern around the wall onto the adjacent barn door. I really like that the door has been differentiated with the white geometric panels.
Atop the right-hand windows, however, this home could do with some wire organization.

This mosaic pattern is a fun way to liven up a tiny bathroom.
I love the color choice but I do wonder if a more consistent style would have been better. Either all brick-style or more abstract like the end wall under the window.
Or, perhaps, each to their own?
Teal Interior Tiny Homes

This tiny home oozes country chic with its warm-toned wooden counters and floors and teal cabinetry.
On the lower floor, we see an L-shaped kitchen on one side and on the other, deep stairs that double as storage leading up to a loft.
I can’t quite believe there is even space for a laundry room at the back!

Here we see a cozy living room and kitchen with teal kitchen cabinets. The small living room includes a built-in bookshelf and floating shelves perfect for showcasing art.
The choice of all-white walls with horizontal paneling was a wise decision. The horizontal lines give off the illusion of widened space.
I am a huge fan of indoor plants in a kitchen, they help freshen up the space and clean the air.

Have you ever thought about adding color to your space on the ceiling?
Well, why not?
This tiny home fuzes styles and eras effortlessly – retro teal appliances, wallpaper map on the loft ceiling, and that round stained-glass window.
The only addition this tiny house needs is a railing on the loft for safety while asleep.

In this living room, the window is both functional and aesthetic. The teal feature wall also acts as a frame for the window. The olive-yellow sofa brings in more color without being overpowering.
This room-length counter is ideal for nomadic workers as it can double up as a breakfast nook and workspace.
The shelves and cubbies above this counter provide useful yet unobtrusive storage.
Happy Yellow Accents

The floor layout of this tiny house is fairly standard with a narrow galley kitchen leading into a small living room with a loft.
Where this design differs from most is that there are two bedrooms, one in the loft and one behind those happy yellow double-barn doors.
Each room has been designed with a sense of both openness and privacy. The loft bedroom has a low shelf which acts as a loft railing and nightstand and the lower room can be part of the living room or closed off when in use.

If you want color but aren’t a fan of big and bold then this color scheme could be for you. The yellow and blue soft furnishings are in more gentle tones.
The little breakfast nook has ample storage under the benches. This is perfect for storing kitchen appliances, linen or camping equipment.
Personally, I really like the black accents in the kitchen and dining table legs. It brings a touch of maturity to this fun tiny house.

This tiny home features a galley kitchen with mustard yellow top cabinets. At the far end of the home is a living room with U-shaped seating.
The mustard yellow of the top cabinets is picked up in the cushions in the living room.
There is plenty of storage space in the kitchen and also in the benches. Floating shelves would do well for vinyl storage. This could also bring in an artistic element on the walls.
Pine Interior with Green and Blue Furnishings

This isn’t a design you come across often. The unusual shape of the high ceiling gives a sense of cozy space.
This home keeps the blues at the bottom and the greens at eye level with the curtains and plants in the loft space.
We have a galley kitchen with a lift-up/down kitchen table. I love functional furniture like this – it is so practical in a tiny space.
The loft seems underutilized to me. This is a perfect place for extra storage, bookshelves or a sleeping area.

This tiny home is pretty similar in principle to the one above. But I think this is much cozier and makes better use of the small space. The blues and greens here are also more pastel in tone.
I think what brings this design together is the rugs and fairy lights. These are simple design choices that can make a house a home.
The deep stairs leading up to the loft are also very clever. They can be used for all sorts of storage – kitchen appliances, pantry, clothing, or even tools!
INSTAGRAM @weecasa
Here we see blues and greens on the kitchen cabinets with touches of purple and yellow. This is a really fun and simple DIY project. All you need is chalk paint and a rag.
Paint your color of choice, leave it for a few minutes, and then gently wipe it with the rag. This will give you the shabby chic look.
You can think pick up one of the colors in floating shelves, like in this tiny home’s mug storage shelf. This is a clever way of bringing in a sense of styling to a DIY space.
Bold Primary Colors

This is a cozy and well-designed tiny house interior with a modern rustic aesthetic. The living area features a small sofa, a lamp, and a speaker.
A colorful, red patterned wall hanging adds warmth and character to the space. And I just love the yellow-framed glass door.
The U-shaped kitchen area is vibrant with deep teal cabinetry and wooden countertops. It has a small but functional setup with a stove, sink, and open shelving that holds various pantry items and kitchen utensils.
Narrow Tiny House with Green Interior and Loft

The living area of this tiny home has a comfortable gray sofa, a wooden table that holds a small TV and a small folding table painted green and yellow sits nearby, adding a pop of color.
I think this home lacks unity, though. There are many different styles and finishes.
While not everyone has a massive budget to create their dream home, choosing matching lighting and a throw for the sofa that suits the rest of the aesthetic would make a world of difference.

This ceiling is painted a cheerful lime green, adding a pop of color to the tiny home. A modern chandelier provides lighting and is a standout design choice.
There are two sleeping areas. A loft and a cozy sleeping nook with teal bedding is visible.
The tiny house includes efficient storage solutions like the fold-down table and chairs that are mounted on the wall. Love this!

This living area features a built-in bench with eclectic cushions, creating a cozy and inviting seating space. It has large windows surrounding this area, allowing plenty of natural light and offering panning views.
The real show-stopper here is the netted loft area!
This can be used for a kids’ play zone or a spare bedroom. It’s a clever way of creating extra space without cutting off the ceiling, so you still get a sense of height.
The cast iron fireplace is sure to make this tiny home cozy in the cold months.
Bright and Bold with Accents of Electric Blue

Up next, we’ve got a series of tiny homes that make a bold move with electric blue sofas or cabinets.
Above, this home plays it relatively safe with baby yellow walls and more of a denim-blue sofa. The peach-colored scatter cushions and flamingo wall art break up these large blocks of color.
In terms of space optimization, this home has under-stairs units and kitchen cabinets as well as a bedroom loft. The small two-seater table is a good idea as this can be folded away or easily taken outside on a sunny day.

This home really makes a statement with its electric blue cabinetry and floor rug. We don’t often see blue and orange working well together, but this home pulls it off!
The loft area has been used for storage. And plenty of storage it offers, indeed.
This living room, however, lacks seating for guests. I think a rectangular ottoman would be more suitable as you could use it as a coffee table or extra seating for two.

The lower cabinets in this small kitchen are painted a vibrant blue, adding a pop of color to the space. The floors, ceiling, and ladder to the loft are in a dark wood.
So, the light-colored countertops complement the dark tones around the small space.
The loft area is used as a sleeping space and is accessible via a wooden ladder. The ladder, although a stunning piece, is rather bulky. I think a retractable ladder would be a better fit.
The loft is adorned with a decorative wreath on a wood-paneled accent wall. This is a fun idea that can be changed according to the season – Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring, etc.

This tiny home features a living room-come-bedroom at the far end with dark blue linens. The platform bed is clever, offering plenty of storage space below it.
With windows all around, there is ample natural lighting which always makes a small space feel more airy and spacious.
This living area could do with more storage, though. Too many floating shelves could make the space feel cramped, so recessed shelving would be more suitable.
Tiny Games Room

Now this is a fun way to create color, without doing anything too drastic or too permanent.
LED strip lighting secured under base cabinets is a great way to create a cool vibe – be it for a games room, music studio or teen pad.
The L-shaped benches are wide enough to be used for seating or as single mattresses for guests.
Who wouldn’t want a games room like this?
Asymmetrical Tiny House with Black and Red Exterior
The house has a distinctive asymmetrical roof that slopes dramatically to one side, giving it a unique and modern appearance.
And the bold red color block really amps things up even more.
A small set of wooden steps leads up to the front door, providing access to the elevated entrance and small front porch.
Expansive angular windows on the front of the house allow plenty of natural light to enter the house and provide an incredible view.
Deep Blue Tiny House on Wheels
The design of this tiny home is modern and sleek, with large glass windows and doors that provide a clear view of the cozy interior.
You can see a neatly arranged dining area inside and bedroom. In each of these spaces, the expansive windows create an inviting indoor-outdoor experience.
The only thing this small home is missing is a deck or front porch. This would, of course, need to be retractable or able to be easily dismantled so that you can move on to a new location.
Marshmallow Pink with Full-Wall Windows
How cute is this marshmallow pink tiny home!
These enormous windows practically beg for sunlight. Whether you’re lounging inside or enjoying the views from outside, these windows ensure you’re always connected to nature.
It doesn’t seem that the bedroom offers much storage space, so a platform bed with storage in the base is a must.
Modern and Unique Tiny Homes on Wheels
Feast your eyes on this unique design!
The house boasts a beautifully curved roof that not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also helps with efficient rainwater runoff. The mix of dark green siding and natural wood accents offers a design that’s both modern and earthy.
I absolutely love the geometric windows. They’re not just there to look cool – they bring in ample natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting.
I mean, if you want more natural light look no further. The set of big skylights on the roof, lets you see the sunrise or the stars at night from the comfort of your bed.
On the inside, you can see a bed and some living space inside, all arranged in a way that feels very spacious.
I love the strip lighting on the ceiling.
If you’re going to install something like this, make sure its in warm tones and not cool white. Living or bedroom lighting that is too harsh can make these rooms feel too office-like.
This mobile tiny home combines retro charm and modern design with its bubble-like shape and turquoise color.
Large, curved windows flood the space with natural light, creating an airy feel that belies its compact size.
For me, the best part of this tiny home is the flat roof which doubles as a deck or outdoor entertainment area.
Picture this: sundowners beside the sea looking at the sunset from your roof deck!
This exterior is clad in natural wood, giving the tiny house a warm, rustic appearance. The accents in dark gray, particularly around the windows and doors, add a touch of contemporary style to the rustic wood.
The unusual shape of this tiny home is the real showstopper, though. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another one like it!
I love the addition of solar panels. This is both eco-friendly and practical for those nomadic souls who live and work in mobile tiny homes.
Yellow Modular Tiny Homes on Wheels
Here we have this impressive two-story yellow and gun-metal gray tiny home.
A double-story design is relatively uncommon for mobile homes, providing additional living space and functionality.
There are plenty of windows all around the home and a spacious upper deck with a railing, accessible from the second floor, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or evening relaxation while taking in the scenery.
If your budget allows for it, I highly recommend getting solar panels. It makes mobile living so much more convenient.
This tiny home has a very similar vibe to the previous one, but this is a single-story with a semi-basement bedroom.
Through the expansive windows, we see two platform beds that offer additional storage in the bases. Very practical for tiny living.
The main room has sliding glass doors. Without a deck, it would be important to have some kind of railing for safety.
Now this is cute and compact. I love that the entire exterior is a vibrant mustard yellow.
Visible through the large sliding door is a glimpse of the interior, which includes a small but well-equipped kitchen area and a cozy living space with a bed.
Built on a dual axle trailer, this tiny house is fully mobile, allowing for easy relocation to different scenic spots.
This tiny house is compact yet cleverly designed, offering a modern and functional living space. The bold yellow paired with sleek gray accents, creates a vibrant and contemporary look.
The house has large windows, allowing ample natural light into the interior. One of the windows is a sliding door, which can be opened to extend the living space.
The open counter is perfect to use as a service hatch when entertaining. All you need is some outdoor furniture like folding beach chairs or even sun loungers.
This has a similar concept to the previous mobile tiny house, except this one is split-level and has a fold-down deck.
A split level is a fantastic way of adding extra space without the bulk of a second floor. Additionally, hauling a two-story tiny house could be rather tricky.
I love the two porthole-inspired windows with their rounded edges, it’s quirky and softens the very angular structure of the house.
Long and Narrow with Solar Panels
One of the most striking features of this little home is the extensive use of glass. Large, floor-to-ceiling windows run the length of the house, offering unobstructed views and allowing natural light to flood the interior during the day.
Through the glass walls, you can see the open-concept layout that maximizes the use of space. And the solar panels are perfectly placed so that they are in full sun all day.
I love the addition of the hanging plants on the exterior. It brings some life and softness to a rather industrial-looking home.
Two-Stories with Balcony and Porch
The tiny house is painted in a striking deep teal color with contrasting orange and cherry wood trim, creating a bold and contemporary look that really stands out.
What I love about this home is that there are two outdoor spaces; a porch and a balcony.
This is a really thoughtful design, as with two or more people living in such a compact home you sometimes just need your own space.
With the right hauler truck to tow this home, I think I would be rather comfortable in this well-equipped tiny house.
Rainbow Hues Interior
The walls here are stained in a variety of bold colors including blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. This rainbow effect creates a lively and energetic atmosphere within the small space.
I love that you can see the natural wood grain through the color stain. It helps the color not overwhelm the compact home.
A loft bed is situated above a small workstation for this remote worker.
And in the loft, you can see wall niches on either side – perfect for storing books, decor or even clothing depending on how deep they are.
Light Blue Soft Furnishings and Cabinetry
Here we have a cozy living area with a pale blue cushioned sofa and decorative pillows on one side, providing a comfortable spot for relaxation. The sofa is placed strategically near the window, allowing for a pleasant view outside.
The bed at the far end of the house is framed by windows on either side, making the area feel larger and more open.
This home boasts plenty of storage space; shelves, drawers, cabinets and a storage bench – space optimization at its finest!
We move on to this split-level tiny house.
And we have three different levels!
- On the mezzanine level, is a sleeping area. The mattress sits atop deep stairs and cabinets.
- On the lower level is the living room and kitchen.
- Then, right at the top, we see a loft space with another bed.
The sofa can also be used as a guest bed. It’s not often that you find a tiny home that can sleep so many!
This tiny house is characterized by a unique and playful design, with natural pine and pale blue features. Built-in bench seating with cushions in various colors, including pink and green, provides a cozy lounging space.
Multiple circular windows add a whimsical touch and allow natural light to enter the space. There is also a fairly large loft above the living room which offers privacy for a bedroom.
This room needs some greenery, though, to freshen up the space. Succulents in a macrame hanging planter would be great and so would trees in the living room.
Pop Art-Inspired Color Block Exteriors
Wow!
Look at this striking and unique tiny house on wheels. The house is designed with a vibrant, geometric exterior that sets it apart from traditional tiny house designs.
The roof has an asymmetrical design, adding to the modern aesthetic and providing additional loft space on the interior.
I love the large window beside the bed. It brings in so much light and is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book enjoying the view – be it rain, snow or sun.
Here we have another color-block tiny house on wheels. However, this one has two stories, with the second floor including a loft space where the roof is lower.
There is a small front porch with steps leading up to the entrance. The porch is adorned with potted plants and comfortable seating, making it a welcoming entry point.
You can read my article here with clever storage ideas for small porches.
I think I am becoming a real fan of these pop-art-inspired tiny homes. They are vibrant and the colors bring so much joy!
The entry door is complemented by a small set of wooden steps, providing easy access to the interior. This is a really small mobile home, probably designed for one or two people only.
Its compact size makes it much easier to hitch to your truck and tow to new locations.
